FAKK!!
FAKK!!

Tomorrow will be a good day for me. Kind of by default. Today blew toward the end when my cell phone got wet (SOMEHOW) and proceeded to get stuck on Vibrate, and I can’t help but wonder if it’s some kind of shitty metaphysical undercurrent to the various levels of excitement in my life. Tomorrow the remake of Star Ocean 2 comes out for the PSP, and while I already have the original it’ll be nice to play it without swapping discs halfway through or dealing with a scratched, skippy disc hanging up trying to load a voice bite I probably don’t want to hear anyway (since I reviewed SO2 god knows how long ago the passage of time still hasn’t made “I’ll turn you into a beehive!” any more witty or coherent.) We’ll also have a shiny new president who will totally turn all of society’s woes on their ear, and little adorable woodland creatures will appear on the White House lawn.

Regarding the PSP: I’ve found myself using it a lot lately, which almost worries me. I picked up a used one so I could get Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness because it had advertised an “Etna Mode,” and other enhancements, and also because I’m a sickening, bilious fanboy for companies who use current-gen platforms to push outmoded graphical and gameplay modes. After a while, I mothballed the system, only taking it out for a tromp through Maverick Hunter X (more like… Malefic… Sucker… X!), Wild Arms XF, and FFT: War of the Lions. Meanwhile, I took my DS to more places than I brought my wallet. After trying and failing to get into Disgaea 2, I started playing 1 again on the portable, and while the PSP is still pretty much a portable Disgaea vector to me, I also found Gitaroo Man on the cheap for a change of pace as my current library is entirely SRPG’s. Well, except Star Ocean. This on top of embarking on “The Journey” of Persona 3 is starting to make me notice both how hilariously fake and impersonal the Social Link system is, while noting my day to day life is kind of starting to resemble it. I wake up. I go to work. I draw some, play some games, chat on the computer. Annoying music accompanies EVERYTHING GOD DAMN MAKE IT STOP. Oh I know, I’ll SHOOT MYSELF IN THE HEAD. That must be how they figured out how to summon their Personas. One too many repetitions of  “Oooh yeah! Bada baba bada ba-ba! Baby baby! Bada ba-ba-ba-baa” would have me releasing my inner self violently all over nearby people and objects.

I saw my returned copy of Chaos Wars at Gamestop today. They want $35 bucks for it- used.

The second funniest thing I saw today were a pair of shrieking hellspawn brats trying to mug the candy-filled statue of the green M&M chick at work.

Actually that’d probably be third. I saw a fat woman on a motorized scooter with one hell of a POWER MULLET!!1 too.
