So, it seems that the ‘new episodes’ of Futurama that have been rumored then confirmed for Comedy Central are, in fact re-cuts of the DTV movies also being produced. New Futurama’s still great and all, just feels a little bit like a gyp in spite of the fact that it’s RUMORS! that let me down rather than actual, confirmed statements by the actors.
Or actual, brutally idiotic statements made by actors (see Chia LePouf’s description of an ‘iPod robot’ totally stealing scenes in the Transformers movie, in spite of the fact that while Frenzy did indeed chew the scenery aggressively, he became a boombox and later cell phone, but never an iPod.)
Big/Odd Lots was most kind to me the other day; a disturbingly high quality knockoff of Mahou Sentai Magiranger’s Dark Knight Wolzard and a small cache of deeply discounted anime including Overman King Gainer, and Panda-Z: The Robonimation for three bucks a pop.
(Meanwhile, Gunbuster 2, while an awesome series, is still coming out at the ridiculous rate of $40 USD per two episode disc.)
So, it’s time I stop beating around the bush and talk about game projects. I haven’t had much time/luck working with the Guardian project, annoyingly, though a few other ideas have come to mind that might be easier to complete and serve as useful practice for a/the big main event.
I want to make a Shockwave demo of some sort after playing in Director and remembering “Great Scott! I actually know something about creating these kinds of presentations!” as opposed to spinning my wheels and attempting clumsily to teach myself game maker et al. from the ground up.
Coming next time: A game that feels like this!
