The heat killed a lot of my drive to do stuff the past few weeks so I didn’t get around to making the usual compilation post. But, like, now I am!

Firstly, just a rough sketch from when I was feeling sappy last night and just wanted to say thanks to all the people who follow and support me after all this time. I started this site way back in 1998 on Angelfire doing shitty game reviews (as was the style at the time) and slowly incorporated more of my artwork into the page like a treacherous butler adding a drop of slow acting poison into the master’s tea, day by day, drop by drop. What was I talking about?

I posted this after going like six whole days without drawing Cozy. Been messing with alternative outfits a lot lately and seeing what looks good enough to revisit later. I like letting my characters mix up their wardrobe sometimes.

Samus Aran speedpaint for the 40th anniversary. Coloring metallic stuff is really fun, I should make more excuses to do it.

A casual Samus I posted before the previous. I actually wasn’t real happy with this one but other people seemed to and it outperformed the one I think looks good, haha.

A Cozy for Bunny Day! Actually, a bit late for it, this is a cleaned up take on the outfit I sketched for her the day of. Bunny suits are actually kind of fun to try and design around, especially the fancy ones that work in stylized formal wear design elements.

My backgrounds are ASS so I don’t think it’s very clear she’s posing on an air hockey table instead of a more typical ‘casino’ thing. I like the pose and outfit on this a lot as seen above.

Mouse Ihrie from Ruin Explorers, drawn after hearing about the Bluray announcement. That show is so fun, I hope lots more people get a chance to see it.

This seems like as good a time as any to say how much I miss those old Pizzarias chips. They were SO good and nothing really replaces them since they were made with this baked ‘crust’ chip as a base instead of corn chips or whatever. After they were discontinued I was able to hunt down bags sporadically from places like Odd Lots but the supply dried up eventually. The Late Night Taco Doritos are pretty good at reaching the same kind of Flavor Saturation, but they are, alas, just corn chips.

So, believe it or not, Cozy’s usual outfit is meant to be her ‘professional attire,’ and I’ve been trying to think of more overt Lazy Girl Fits for her to slink around in.

This is Agari, the original creation of an artist I follow on basically every site I’m able. I’ve wanted to draw her for a while and finally worked up the nerve to do so and tag them, I was stoked that they liked my take on her.

This was one of those drawings I just kind of went to town messing around with brushes and lighting effects with and I really like the feeling of it. Cosette’s not exactly a normal girl, but she’s not evil or anything probably don’t worry about it

You might be able to guess from the border this was originally going to be the first panel of Nervous Nellie’s introduction to the strips but I couldn’t think of the best way to play off her “I am a serious grown up businesswoman unless my switch is flipped” thing.

You know, I have a *lot* of these to upload and comment on tonight and I’m starting to wonder if the smart thing to do would have been to just comment on the good stuff in full size then drop the sketches into a gallery table at the end, but I don’t think being smart is exactly part of my brand. This is kind of a rough idea of what I’d like to do with a character standee since I was looking at having small runs of merch run pretty much just for me.

”It looks like my guests are enjoying themselves~”
I was going for kind of a mischievous look but I almost feel like she looks pained she wasn’t included.

Moody, limited pallet drawings are kinda fun. I titled this one “Who are you, really?” which is a question not worth worrying about. Wanna play skee-ball?

I kind of can’t believe I waited so long to post this here, it’s one of the best things I’ve drawn in a minute!
The posing, the coloring, the windjamming, all on point. This is actually my current phone lock screen which led to evasively explaining to my dad what it is I do anyway.

Birthday present to the wonderful cutepiku, a Dynasty Warriors appreciator and lover of Zhuge Liang in general. I didn’t want to lean too hard on the Ya Boy Kongming anime design but he was definitely a big part of what I went with.

I ran out of things to say so here’s the rest of the rough sketches from July! Holy crap I need to keep better pace next time.
