As soon as I started coloring this one I kind of regretted not pulled up some actual Dodonpachi costume references since the further the series went on, the more they leaned into cute girl designs and stuff. Maybe I’ll do some more Cave stuff and dress her up like a Deathsmiles or Bug Princess.
I’m kind of weak when it comes to drawing everything below the waist tbh but if I force it enough maybe I’ll develop a ‘system’ for it lol

There’s an art meme going around of girls reacting to being told their bra strap is showing and I actually had a few people want to see the Cozy reaction. I kind of want a Personal (Space Invader) shirt now…
Against my better judgement, I tried out a new gacha one of the channels I watch kept praising, Chaos Zero Nightmare. I actually do like it quite a bit, but the story is sort of whatever. I decided on a favorite character pretty quickly though, since you’re introduced to the mayor who projects this goddess-like grace in all her artwork but is sort of a slob who would rather swordfight than do politics. You meet her trying to speak through a mouthful of peanut butter.
Anyway, her name is Heidemarie and I was dying to draw her like a Hidemari Sketch character for the sake of a stupid pun. Thank you for humoring me.
And last but not least, yet more Cozy cosplaying with the hope it leads to snacks. I probably should have done Big Neptune since she shows off the girls a little more, but I kinda prefer Cosette in lighter colors.
Ayo, I’m doing this backwards and adding the blog stuff at the end this time! It is now late June, and I’m another year older and mellower. I had a good two weeks off to recharge at the start of the month, which was a great break for my feet. Picked up a Switch 2 after the Star Fox announcement and to beat the price increase that was announced and dig it a lot other than the Game Chat button that I never intend to use being where I expect Home to be. I was really sort of ‘whatever’ on the console at launch, but now that I have it there’s a lot of little tweaks I appreciate while playing my existing games, and I know going forward there’s only going to be more things I’m interested in that’ll be exclusive to it. A lot of people seem down on Star Fox for being another take on Star Fox 64, but like, I like Star Fox 64 and playing a prettier version of it sounds pretty great. I understand though, it is disappointing to see a series play so safe it essentially just does the literal same thing.
I am all for the upgrade packages they’re making for stuff like Xenoblade, though. They’re recent enough games I don’t really feel like shelling out full price for a new version, but the increased framerate in particular adds a lot to the feel of X. Just finished that tonight, actually. I started out not caring for it very much, but eventually found out the meat is in the side content while the A plot ranges from “whatever” to actively bad. The upgrade for XC1 dropped about the same time I was finishing the postgame, and I’m excited to try that out. Especially the inexplicable kart racing game!
