I've been to Video Town before. They were the local video store before Blockbuster commandos broke down the storefront and performed an End of Evangelion-like mass execution. Not that it mattered; they both had the same stock of tapes, and were both insanely overpriced for a three day rental. Of course, these days you can only rent movies that came out yesterday, but they have a jillion copies of them and you get them for five whole days.

I'm thoroughly convinced that the producers of the Captain N cartoons and comics had never played a video game in their lives. They did things like pit Bayou Billy against Dr. Wily, mistake the two separate Belmonts of Castlevania for one person, and painted Megaman green. Everything else just seems to have been made up pretty much at random. There's a ninja, some guy with a pair of guns, a gay mobster getting tossed into a lightpost, and for some reason the Parthenon is in the downtown area. But the most famous made-up character of all has to be Rex Dart, Eskimo Spy, star of the smash hit Gamera series. We see him surfing on top of a hovercar, shooting an odd purple demon in the ass.
