In spite of Windows 10 and its grudge against my internet adapter, I did this one (mostly) on stream including scrapping my original sketch entirely and starting over from scratch. I can’t seem to settle on how I wanna do feet in this style though. I like the ‘side’ view type but can’t translate it to a front view how I want just yet.

I was talking with xlgirl in the stream about how I always kind of had an urge to try and make Sylphiel more interesting since she’s kind of a meh character, and lately I’ve been thinking she’d make a great yandere character. I mean, she is a healer who learned the most destructive black magic spell there is just because she thought it would make her more useful to her crush…

It’s been pretty rewarding to push myself to go all the way to colors on this stuff lately even if it’s all pretty simple character designs. It seems like it’s been a good idea to grab something I had sitting around and ink/finish it when I’m feeling kind of blah.

I think the humidity has thoroughly microwaved my brain. Still, I count all the chibis as kind of useful since as mentioned before, this is kind of the style I’m wanting to use in a game I’m working on. I’m kind of aiming for a vibe between Etrian Odyssey and the Dept. Heaven series by STING, though I think the glossier anime style color and shading worked fine for the Lina I did before.

I’ll probably set about doing finished versions of these down the line as I have more “blah” burnt out nights, it seems like a good way to spend an evening when I can’t think of anything fresh.

Also I have a friend going to the Slayers art show in Tokyo right now, so maybe that’s part of why this crept into my head again…
