Stumbled upon a new fighting game/shmup hybrid by the name of Maiden&Spell I’m really liking a lot, thought I’d try drawing the monsters’ queen from it. She gives me kind of a bratty Bowsette vibe. I mostly was trying to practice inking a bit, my first time trying to draw a character usually ends up pretty rough.
I should like, do a proper review later.
Late January through February entries in Sketch A Day II: The Second Raid. I guess there’s no real reason I can’t crosspost here like I was posting to my Twitter other than laziness! I would like to start writing here again more often as a way to bump my general productivity up and chip away at my plane girls setting some more. There’s a lot of games I have had Thoughts on lately, too but I sort of wound up on a train of thought that nobody wanted to read plain text articles anymore after spending a couple years cramming them into comic format. I guess it would be a step up from “quietly stewing about it.”
So, the little exercise is chugging along nicely but definitely harder to pull off some days than others. Making myself produce at least *something* daily is helping me feel less depressed and lazy. I’m also attempting to put more effort into trouble areas so hopefully by the year’s end there’s a clearer improvement than the 2015 version of the project. Happy Leap Day, folks!
I’ve been battling through some pretty severe funks over the course of the past few years, and began to hit ‘depressed to the point of non-functionality’ fairly frequently in the past two particularly. In an effort to combat this, I’ve started a second Sketch-A-Day exercise I call SAD-II which conveniently puts the word SAD up there in a way that looks professional and is attached to something fun.
As per last time, I don’t have any hard goals beyond drawing or creating one Thing every day. (Technically, writing this post counts, but I’m still going to do an actual drawing later tonight.) But should I do some crafting or model building or something, I may substitute some shots of the product. I do have a list of things I would like to focus on and improve, in particular I’d like to get better at pinup-worth character art for a game I’m working on. Many of the original characters I’ll be sharing as part of this are related to that of course. I’d also like to improve my backgrounds and overall finesse inking as I go along.
I sort of dragged my feet cross posting the dailies here since 1) Twitter is easier if lacking in options and limited to 4 pics max and 2) I keep holding my breath that I’ll do a proper site revamp but that didn’t happen when the year turned over, so I’m not using that as a deadline! I’ll be batch posting for now and making smaller more frequent posts after catching up here.

Snappy title, huh? Sorry to be so slow catching up the postings on this page and mainly posting to Twitter/Tumblr now that I’m back to this project. I’ve had to miss a couple days but spent the morning putting in extra time to make up for that. Had some computer troubles this week and a few streaming engagements making the daily goal a little tougher.
