I Must Use This Power For Selfish Things
Often I find myself thinking about specific scenes in TV shows, then the episode in my head will end up airing that night. Well, in this case, since I’ve had Mario and Luigi on the brain, I was SHOCKED to see on GameSpite:
Mario & Luigi 3 first impressions: I’m not entirely sure this preview is accurate, but it was written based on brief video impressions. Forgive me if I misinterpreted NIntendo’s cryptic visual missive.
Also with the DSi and Sin and Punishment 2 announcements, my day has been more or less made- before noon, even! Though the day is young and I could get hit by a car or something… and a rambunctious kitty just knocked over my girlfriend’s digiridoo… thing and in a chain reaction, my old Macross Valkyrie model…
So, how about that Guardian Legend sequel? Or do I still have to do that?

Today, then tomorrow, then VACATION. Couldn’t have come at a better time unless it were an entire week early, since biking to and from work with a sinus infection has, and will continue to, SUCK ASS until one or the other thing comes to an end.
I feel like I’ve earned this vacation, even though to the untrained eye, I don’t really do anything at the store. (These untrained eyes belong to managers, who deduce that because there are chairs in our department, we surely must have free time enough to make/print/cut/laminate signage or stock batteries while watching the doors for shoplifters and calling the help desk whenever someone makes a nebulous complaint like ‘the bathroom needs attention.” Are you saying it’s a mess, or it was doing Tom Green impressions while you were trying to take a dump? Because the clean-up crew likes having an idea of what they’re getting into. I could write a fricking book about the retail experience, and I half think I might give it a try. It might even sell well if the entire country is forced to work for Wal-Mart et al.*
I’ve been rediscovering the joy that is Mario&Luigi: Superstar Saga, and I use the word ‘joy’ in a non-sarcastic way for the first time since 20XX. I’d given up on it for a while since the flow of the game utterly croaks about the point where you have to go recover X PIECES OF Y, but after getting annoyed that nobody else seemed to have that problem, since GameFAQs didn’t seem to be addressing where to go next, and actually forked coins over to the in-game Help guy.
I have to wonder why the control scheme from M&L hasn’t shown up elsewhere. It’s kind of cool controlling two characters simultaneously, and I could see it working in a somewhat slower-paced platformer outing (where cycling between the duo actions wouldn’t mean instant death.)
*By making a jab at Wal-Mart as the only named store in my bitchings, I’ve nicely offset referring to my own place of work as a horribly mismanaged cesspit of idiocy.
Another Interruption From The Other Site
I don’t know how many from here actually follow Revolver Knight or not, but in spite of my efforts to keep my web comic separate from here, updating the blog section over there’s become an odd chore ever since the last WordPress upgrade. (the theme it runs on no longer comes up as an actual theme in the site editor, so I have to edit the sidebar.php offline then upload it- just like the old days!)
I’ve been rather inconsistent in updates lately due to exhaustion, mainly. Work is piling all sorts of extra busy-tasks on me, and I have to admit most of my linework was getting done there for a time so all I had to do when I got home was upload and crash, basically. My car’s been in the shop since pretty much a week after I got it- long story, so I’m back to commuting on foot or two wheels back and forth.
I bring this up here rather than there, because well, up til now I have to admit I wasn’t totally comfortable going LOOKIE LOOKIE and throwing link banners around forums and generally acting like an attention-hungry pest. But after finalizing and running my outlines for the remainder of the series by a few people, I have to say I’m feeling a lot happier with the RK project as a whole, even if it does still need work. It’s my first long term comic project, though- inconsistent in spots, as I tried new things to see what did and didn’t work, It’s not a bad time to stop in and check it out, anyway- Chapter 18 is due to wrap up next week, out of 30 total, so the ‘establishing’ stuff and a good chunk of story are already out there to get into at a pace a lot less glacial than the original post schedule. I’ll be spending the weekend (or part of it anyway) trying to work towards getting a jump on my remainder. So, yeah. Check it out. If you want.
