it’s a new frontier

2016 is upon is already, it seems like 2015 just flew by for me. It’s probably at least partially due to going out of my way to keep busy practicing my artwork in hopes of improving, and while it might not have been especially dramatic, I think my “off” days by the end look better than my “off” days before it became routine, so I’ll take that as a little bit of encouragement. Though, I didn’t put as much effort behind fixing my weaknesses so much as coming up with ways of drawing figures that I felt more comfortable with that didn’t give me too horrible a result. (Ironically, it was that stretch of drawing “chibi” characters that helped joining arms and legs to the body click for me more than anything else, from there I pretty much used the same basic technique ‘stretched out’ to come up with a look I rather like.)

I don’t really have too many solid goals or a declared “resolution” for the year. I’ll still draw frequently, but I won’t be busting my ass to have something up whether or not it’s good/complete to meet a daily deadline. I would like to get Angel Dust going, but I think my first order of business is getting my card game prototype finally ready for testing. I have a few interested parties already, and I’m trying to gather a broad variety of skill levels or gamer types to give it a shot because I want the game to be as easy and fast paced to play as possible.

I’m starting to dig Irrgarten as a working title, though it will likely need something extra to be finalized. I haven’t been sweating it too much, though the old working title of RAID! was feeling kind of blah and I’m looking more now for something more in the vein of a nonsense JRPG fantasy world title. So make sure you stay tuned for updates on that, I’ll be changing the card game tag to “Irrgarten” for now, at least until something else sounds better.

Also even though I’m not guaranteeing daily draws, here’s a couple anyway!
