I haven’t GM’d a game other than Heroscape in a long time, so running a Silhouette game was a nice change of pace at the con here. The game’s name was Leave The Blue Earth To Me! (Nadesico Ref, Go!) and had an ensemble of multinational super robot pilots fighting for the glory of defeating the evil giant monster Gigazardo. And… it was awesome. Neo-Japan’s “Samurai Blue” kicked things off by picking up the fallen Neo-France robot and ramming it into the monster to knock it on its ass. From there, Neo-America’s GunHawk knocked the Eiffel Tower down on the monster, pinning it, and R-66 of Neo-Russia beheaded it with a gravitic axe. And that wasn’t the good part.
From there, Japan attacked Russia, and the Russian pilot activated his nuclear self destruct. Neo-America tried to beat it, but Samurai Blue drove its sword into the nuke to detonate it prematurely and the entire city and all players went up in thermonuclear smoke.
Doesn’t that beat casting magic missile at dragons or whatever?
