I’ve been doing this weapon theme for significant characters in Angel Dust because reasons, and this punk is one I’ve been deliberating on for some time. “Gunn” is such an obvious surname to work from, probably too obvious, and yet, I think this guy might be worthy of it.
I dunno what to say about this one past I was practicing some figures and liked this pose enough to go back and detail it some more. Then shift it to more human colors because I like to doodle in like, turquoise at times. You can kinda see where I strayed from the areas I blocked out when getting the pose down, but it’s kinda hard to do fingers with a huge brush and all.

Wow, this is the least dead I’ve felt in an evening for a while. I’m starting to suspect it’s at least partially dietary reasons since I’ve been spending a lot of time with my Dad and when we “spend time†it’s usually eating out at some point or another. Plus when I get off work dead tired, there’s a hibachi place across the street and a pizza place in between me and home, so I probably make more stops there than I oughta. Ahem. Getting back on track this week with some lighter fare and lots and lots of water. Not ale.

I’ve been kind of in one of those modes lately where I’m bursting with ideas but haven’t got the juice to do any of them, which is really disappointing to me since I really did intend to produce more comics this year after a major slump in the latter half of 2014. To be honest, one of the things that helped snap me out of the funk was finding out there was still a small but active fan base for Slayers, which helped me focus on just doing stuff I want to do without agonizing about marketability or being current and hip or whatever. I marathoned the movies and OAVs with my girlfriend last week and they still get a laugh, dammit. Who cares about how old something is if it’s good, dammit?
It’s been a while since I drew Tane. Such an adorable little shuriken-head. I hope you guys like this comic whenever the hell I get it rolling.
I wanted to mess around with a cute, easily ‘readable’ style for my cards down the line, and I also spent a chunk of the afternoon indulging in some more Gravity Rush, so I gave it a shot with Schoolgirl Kat. It’s a little rough and messy around the edges, but I do my ‘tinkering’ in MyPaint and it’s not great for pixel-by-pixel cleanup like Photoshop is.
