Frontin’ the Mission, Yo
After basically letting it gather dust for a good while, I’m officially elbow deep in Front Mission DS. I played all the way through the SNES (or more accurately, Super Famicom) one years back (You may remember it from a Year in Review lost to the ether.) I haven’t tried the Bad Guy campaign yet, but being able to use some of the nonstandard mechs like the GIANT ENEMY CRAB er, Clinton-type is nice. I’ve also been bored enough to rack up obscene Arena winnings and buy all the best parts this time out instead of eking out upgrades here and there in an attempt to speed through.
Anywho. Could anyone spot the difference in the last 2 RK’s? If the answer is no, I’m pretty happy, because all I did was shift back to paper after several issues of straight digital work. It actually makes things go a bit faster, though I have to admit I’m gonna cut it to two strips this week, color 9 tomorrow, and work on next week’s material over the weekend. For tonight though, the weather just SAPS my energy.
I’m glad I’ve found some things that help my productivity, like capping my caffeine intake off at a certain point in the evening so I’m not jittering and tabbing over to Youtube every five minutes while trying to draw, and the paper-thing. I’m gonna try for some kind of scribble per post thing (after this post, of course) as another way of keeping my mojo up.
I think I’ve finally come up with an obligatory rating system for reviews from here on as well… now follow me, here. Now, I don’t think I’m alone in thinking numerical ratings are pretty well, lame. So using my old 3/2 ‘circle’ logo as a base, One Half means something sucks. A whole circle means it’s passable but unremarkable. But a third half, ah! There’s something extra there that makes the game/bad movie/feminine undergarment/war atrocity ‘click’ for me. Think of it as a thumbs up/thumbs down with an unhelpful ‘meh’ at the fulcrum.
Wanzers!
