Man, I have vacation on the brain, bad right now. I’m working on a ‘sister strip’ to the Shadow of the Colossus one right now (for Ico, natch) though I’m about to head out of town for the better part of a week so it’ll be a while on that one. Of late I’ve mostly been working, napping in three hour chunks, and trying to flog myself harder in drawing stuff so I don’t get stagnant or rusty as I tend to let myself do when I’m feeling burnt out.

Stuff’s good though. Got a new PC capable of letting me stream without massive lag as well as finally play all the things in my Steam folder (expect more PC game reviews in the future, though my expected queue now is still console and portable stuff I need to catch up on.) Really, all I need to feel like I’m doing *damn good* is a new set of wheels and a job where weekends and holidays aren’t a thing to inspire terror anymore.

I actually started the second chunk of my Robotech thing the other day but it went rambly fast and I don’t want to make it *completely* an onslaught of bitching with faint praise inserted here and there for variety’s sake.

I’m digging livestreaming sketches as something to pressure myself into doing junk instead of staring at the wall and wondering why I’m not improving. I don’t really have a set time or day I do it as yet, but I link to it on my Twitter and Facebook pages whenever I go live (unless I’m just streaming to hash out a design or something with a friend/client).

Old characters don’t die, they just fade away. Then randomly barge into your stream of consciousness when you’re trying to get other work done.

AEON was a ‘novel’ I wrote in a 3-subject notebook in high school that was more or less a mash-up of Cybernator, Metal Warriors and Macross concepts, but I still like a lot of the ideas that popped into my head. Sandy was the heroine and probably a total Mary Sue in retrospect (a general’s daughter who had an ancient AI imbed itself in her brain as a split personality/controlling presence) but darn it, I like her still.

I’ve been doing some live (well, laggy) streaming of my warm up sketches the last couple of nights, and it’s fun enough I think I’m going to do them more often. I don’t really have a schedule in mind or anything, but I’ll probably post it to Twitter whenever I’m doing a live thing so that it appears on the main page here without cluttering the blog with a bunch of “HERE’S AN EVENT FROM A WEEK AGO” type entries.

Hey, maybe this’ll keep me from falling into an unproductive funk again for a while.
