“I’m Sorry” arcade cabinet

”I’m Sorry” is a classic(?) arcade game skewering the bribery scandals surrounding former Japanese Prime Minister Kohei Tanaka by making him a fat-headed caricature skittering around collecting gold bars. The title is a play on the title of “Sori” sounding similar to “Sorry.”

Rather than complaining about it being too political, it actually performed very well on release! It also features cameos by Carl Lewis, Michael Jackson, and Giant Baba among other then-topical celebrities. Later, the Nerima Daikon Brothers anime would make a similar joke with a Koizumi caricature singing “Sorry, Sorry, I’m Sorry” after his minions (another Michael Jackson stand in and a corrupt news publisher) were defeated.
