Been kicking around ideas for a mascot platformer starring a character I created when I was a little brat, in the tradition of Attack of the Killer Robots, (which only lasted one update. ) It’s about a turtle handyman in a little town who gets tired of mending pots and pans and decides to make a rocket-powered super suit for himself to overcome the natural weakness of turtlekind and defend the Reptile Kingdom.There’s more to it than that, but I’ll save it for when I get around to working on the thing, or talk someone else into doing the hard work for me so I can just keep vomiting out ideas. Ideally, I’m kind of hoping for something that kind of feels like Gunstar Heroes, but faster. More dashing, tackling and less blasting.
I’m not totally settled on the color scheme, though. I definitely think a drabber green for his skin tone is in order considering his overall blue/grey look. I was going to do him all in greys, but it was dull looking, so I switched to blue for a more ‘heroic’ vibe. But now he just kind of looks like Mega Man. Darker, maybe? Try a green? He’ll have a few color swaps in game anyway.
